Why we made video the heart of the experience

Real social moments are dynamic. Video lets children respond to situations that feel true to life.

Real social life is dynamic. It unfolds in time, with tone and timing and the small shifts that change a moment's meaning. A static question on a page can't hold that.

That's why video sits at the heart of the Sequence experience. Children respond to situations that move and breathe — moments that feel closer to the social world they actually navigate.

Video also lets us hold context steady. Every child sees the same scene, so the differences we observe are about understanding, not about how a question happened to be worded.

The result is an experience that feels less like a test and more like watching a short story — and responses that carry far more signal.
